For 24 hours Mike soaked up family and home life. We relaxed together and enjoyed the moment. While at home, Mike decided it was time for a new style so he shaved his head!
Late that afternoon Mike started to develop a slight fever. We are told this is to be expected and that there is nothing to worry about. After speaking with Dr. Schecter, Mike returned to the hospital for antibiotics. He anticipated being in the hospital for a day or two but while getting a platelet transfusion an allergic reaction developed. All was managed well but the end result is that he stayed in the hospital a bit longer than expected. Mike is now feeling good and has a strong appetite. As soon as his cell count goes up, he will come home again.
24 hours was a nice break from the hospital but definitely not long enough! At this time Mike still cannot have visitors due to his low white blood cell count but he has asked me to thank you all so much for your cards, text messages, and emails. He deeply appreciates your expressions of love and caring support.
Love, Tina
Mike's got a good head. He needs some cool shades to go out and scare more bad guys. All positive news is great. Thanks for the update.
